Consortio provides translation and interpretation services in Georgian, Russian, Dutch and English and was founded by Zura Jgamadze. We work for governmental institutions, courts and companies, but also for private individuals. Thanks to our broad background we are able to provide a full range of translation and interpretation services in various fields of expertise.
Background
Zura Jgamadze is a Sworn interpreter Georgian and Dutch and also interprets and translates in Russian and English. Born in the former Soviet Union, he grew up speaking Georgian with his father and Russian with his mother. Both languages are his native language. Later on, Zura moved to the Netherlands were he also went to school, which makes Dutch his third mother tongue.
From 2000 till 2009 Zura worked in the ICT industry, focusing on internet, networking technology, software development, etc. When looking back at his work as an IT support employee: “Even back then I was already interpreting and acting as a mediator between the customer and the technician. I helped creating a mutual understanding which enabled them to solve their problems together.”
In 2010 Zura decided to start his own company and continued his ICT services under the name Zura V.O.F. During this period he also started with the preparation and training for Consortio, which he finally established in the beginning of 2016. Since then, Zura has already supported numerous interpreting sessions and translated countless documents.
Mission
“Connecting people”. This is Consortio’s mission. Zura’s ambitions go beyond delivering accurate and professional translations. He aims to create a connection between people so they can learn from each other. Not only by making sure they understand each other literally, but also by creating mutual understanding. Therefore he refers to himself as an ‘intercultural communicator’.
Intercultural communicator: is a person that shares information by means of communication with people from different cultural background and social groups. This person provides solutions for a broad range of communication processes and problems that arise in organizations or social environments that exist of individuals from different religious, social, ethnic and educational backgrounds.
